The Process-
First, we begin by taking all vent covers off, and taking them outside to thoroughly wash them. Next, we go into each opening as far back as it goes, using two different vacuum systems (depending on what kind of duct work you have). One vacuum, the Rotobrush®, is designed to follow flexible duct work all the way back, cleaning and dusting as it goes. The Rotobrush® is also used for flat duct work to go around corners or long runs of duct. We also use a commercial-grade vacuum, with specially made pieces that we have designed, to scrub out box areas of round duct work and to scrub out flat duct work. These special attachments allow us to pick up large debris such rocks, nails, and shingles as well as microscopic particles. In many cases, we use both vacuums in the duct work. Areas around the vent box are wiped out to make sure nothing is left around the edges. Air returns (whether in ceiling or floor) are extensively cleaned. Finally, the cleaned vent covers are re-installed, and we perform a final walk-through inspection to make sure no messes have been left behind.
